Mooch-IDFA
What’s with all the dutch words?
Yep… Holland Doc pretty much says it all. This platform is pretty dutch oriented. However, we met so many great filmfans and makers at IDFA with great stories we thought we owe it to them to write up a post about all your great input in English
- I O U.S.A. 2008: Maria told me to see this movie about credit cruching and people are lured into debt
- Cocalero: Movie a South American filmmaker recommended to me when she heard I was half Bolivian. This movie is on Evo Morales… Don’t know how to get it but would like to see it!
- http://citizenshift.org/blogs/ a platform which aim is ‘media for social change’ –> More power to ya
- www.sitefilms.nl Dutch platform working on internet and multimedia initiatives
- www.elineflipse.com - Dutch website with documentary reviews.
I was also invited to a slow food group to speak or discuss food issues after having spoken out against GM crops at the Q&A of ‘Scientists under Attack’.
The IDFA experience has led me in various directions… meeting many people and getting lots of input and recommendations. Do you have a recommendation of some sort? Where do you get you docs from (besides Holland Doc)?

Oh and forget this one… It’s a TED TALK recommended by someone I met at IDFA
” Can school kill creativity?” - by sir Ken Robinson http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html
Interesting!

The daily IDFA-newspaper mentioned our touch-table (and our presence on the festival), yeah! Unfortunately the article - titled ‘”DOCS AAN TAFEL” - is in Dutch… and I’m not going to translate it here
To summarize it: it’s informing, postive and - last but not least - we’re getting some (press) recognition
