Hannie van den BerghHannie van den Bergh
Hannie van den Bergh (1964) studied ‘monumental design’ at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (1985-1988) and she studied with Luciano Fabro at the Accademia de Belle Arti di Milano.

Since 1992 Hannie uses film and graphic techniques in her art works, some of which were included in the collection of the Dutch Textile Museum and the collection of the bank VSB. Hannie also works as a graphic designer.

Since 1998 Hannie has been with Theater Adhoc as a graphic designer. Moreover, she designs Adhoc’s stage settings, often using video projections.

Jan van den BergJan van den Berg
Jan van den Berg (1961) graduated ‘cum laude’ in 1987 at the KU Nijmegen (now Radboud University). He chose his own study path and courses, among others ‘social and political philosophy’. After graduating he decided to study at the Amsterdam School of Arts, which he left after successfully completing the first year ‘art direction’.

Jan was a teacher at several theatre schools, worked full-time at Theater de Balie and part-time at DasArts in Amsterdam. He was one of the founders of the ‘Vereniging van Vlakkevloer Theaters’ and joined the board until December 1995.

Since 1996 he has mainly been focussing on creating his own plays and projects with Theater Adhoc.

Alexander Doxiadis (1980) studied ‘theoretical physics’ at the University of Utrecht. Being broadly interested in science he followed courses ranging from ‘philosophy of science’ to ‘quantum field theory’. After graduating he travelled for a year and worked as a divemaster in Central America.

Since the end of 2006 he has been working on his PhD in ‘high energy physics’ at NIKHEF in Amsterdam, working on the Atlas experiment at Cern, Geneva.

Freya BlekmanFreya Blekman
Freya Blekman (1974) studied experimental physics at the Universiteit van Amsterdam and in 2005 received her Ph.D from Nikhef/UvA. Currently she works full time on CMS as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Cornell University (NY,USA), but is permanently based at CERN in Geneva.

Freya is responsible for the calibration software and infrastructure of the CMS pixel detector, is a CMS software expert and works on identification algorithms to find tau leptons and missing transverse energy in the CMS detector.

Once there is data, she intends to use her top quark physics expertise to calibrate the detector and then search for new physics signals.

Erik van der KraaijErik van der Kraaij
Erik van der Kraaij (1980) studied theoretical physics at the University of Amsterdam. In 2005 he turned to the high energy physics for his PhD on supersymmetry, to be found with the Atlas experiment. Working first from Nikhef in Amsterdam, he is now also living in the region of Geneva, in the tiny village Crozet in France.

Very happy with the choice of switching from theoretical to experimental physics, his work not only consists of particle physics analysis, but also of helping operate the Inner Detector cooling system.
